Your Holistic Aesthetic Therapies for 40+

Turning 40 is a milestone that deserves celebration, not stress over skin changes. I was definitely fighting the fact that I am no longer in my mid-20s. The reality of aging was not easy to accept. I can comfortably say that I am over 40 and look my best with holistic therapies to support, ease, and soothe the natural aging process. Non-invasive therapies are my choice as part of my holistic lifestyle. I was not okay with toxic substances injected into my face with unknown long-term effects, nor do I like the 'inflated' appearance that comes with the use of fillers. Here, I will share holistic options for beauty therapies to embrace your natural beauty and maintain a youthful glow without the need for invasive procedures.

1. Cosmetic Acupuncture

Cosmetic acupuncture is a standout option for those seeking a natural lift and rejuvenation. This ancient technique uses fine needles to enhance blood flow and stimulate collagen production, reducing the appearance of fine lines and promoting a radiant complexion. Acupuncture reduces stress, including tension that shows up on our faces in a form of wrinkles, puffiness, dryness, acne, redness and dullness. The best part? It’s not just about beauty—it also promotes overall wellness.

2. Microneedling

Microneedling combined with more natural serums takes skin rejuvenation to the next level. This treatment creates tiny channels in the skin, allowing serums rich in vitamins, hyaluronic acid, and peptides to penetrate deeply. The result is improved skin texture, reduced scarring, reduce fine lines and a boost in collagen for firmer skin.

3. Gua Sha

Gua Sha, an ancient Chinese practice, and facial reflexology offer a powerful combination for skin rejuvenation. Gua Sha involves gentle massaging of the skin with a smooth Gua Sha tool to improve circulation and reduce puffiness. Facial reflexology targets specific pressure points to promote relaxation and overall skin health, leading to a natural facelift and a radiant glow. This therapy can be easily done in the comform of your home.

4. Buccal Massage as a Part of Full Body Manual Manipulation

This is a manual therapy and can be helpful for face swelling, uneven smile, emotional wrinkle release, drooping contour of face or mouth corners, facial muscle spasms, jaw tension, scar pulling and more. Face is a part of the body, and should be treated together. For best and most effetive results, buccal massage should be paired with full body manual modeling which includes lymph drainage, visceral release, abdominal massage, trigger points, acupressure, and specialty manual tools to enhance the results.

5. Homeopathic Collagen Injections

Guna Collagen gives the added boost of protein that will dramatically improve the compactness of the extra-cellular matrix. Collagen strengthens the dermis by improving the structure of microfibrils, elastin fibers, and anchor cells that connect to other connective tissue within the skull and facial area. The stronger the connective tissue is within the dermal layer, the less likely you are to form deep wrinkles and sagging areas of skin. Guna Collagen will help you maintain a lifted appearance as you age!

6. Holistic Lifestyle Choices

Your lifestyle plays a crucial role in how your skin ages. Embrace a blood type diet that is individualized for each blood type (read about it here). You have heard about the importance of hydration, right? Water is essential to keep your skin supple. In addition, activities like yoga, meditation, or nature walks can help manage stress, which often shows up on your skin. Don't forget to avoid prolonged direct sunlight by wearing a hat, and do not bathe in the sun. Personally, I wear a floppy hat during hiking and water activities, and not worry about dark spots. Prevention is easier than treatment. Don’t underestimate the power of holistic approach (more here) to beauty and try it for yourself.

Entering your 40s with confidence is all about celebrating your natural beauty and finding therapies that resonate with your holistic lifestyle. Whether it's the ancient practice of cosmetic acupuncture in the office or at-home gentle Gua Sha, these non-invasive treatments offer options for vibrant, youthful skin. I personally use every therapy mentioned above and strongly recommend starting holistic before jumping headfirst into using Botox or fillers. Here’s to embracing your age with grace and glowing confidence!
